Spring maintenance
When you take your pole out of the ground sleeve, you’ll likely notice there’s dirt and grit, both on the pole itself, and in the ground sleeve. Cleaning helps to ensure it continues to be easy to remove your pole as needed.
First, you’ll want to take out the pole, and remove the flash collar from the ground sleeve.
You can start by using a leaf blower to remove bugs and excess dirt around the top of the ground sleeve. Then take your garden hose and spray around the inside of the sleeve. Because of the gravel, the water will dissipate into the ground.
Once the site looks visibly cleaned out, you can move on to cleaning the pole itself.
For the flagpole you’ll want to do a simple wash with your garden hose. You may also want to use a scouring pad to help remove excess dirt and gravel. Finally, you can wipe it down with a regular cloth.
